Booked it a week before Día de Muertos, no plan, no checklist. Just vibes (and somehow… the best decision ever).

In the Arts District, Chulita Vinyl Club is hosting a costume party that pays tribute to vinyl, identity, and the power of the dance floor.
Zzz Records and Mister Psychedelia present Cumbiateca, a rave cumbiero celebrating tropical futurism and mutant Latin beats.

In Echo Park, Bar Flores is hosting a costume party that brings together neighborhood regulars, great music, and a cozy Halloween atmosphere.
Blind Barber is turning its speakeasy into a Halloween night spot, expect DJs, dancing, and that familiar local energy that always shows up on weekends like this.

Saturday November 1
Now shifting to Día de Los Muertos
Saturday morning, Latina Wellness Club, Lila Baddie Society, and MidCity Mercado team up for a community run
Earlier that morning, the Los Muertos 5K returns to Olvera Street to honor loved ones through movement and memory. The run begins at 8 am.
At Coyote Studios, Los Angeles Nights hosts an all-ages Día de Muertos celebration centered on creativity and healing, with zine-making, grieving circles, and live music bringing community stories to life.
In Boyle Heights, 1st Street Collective transforms the neighborhood into a block-long celebration, with live vinyl, family altars, and free face painting for kids. It’s a reminder of how Día de Muertos continues to thrive as both tradition and living art.
Midcity Mercado and Councilwoman Heather Hutt are hosting their 3rd annual
Dia De Muertos Festival Block Party. There will be free carnival rides, 2 stages, food trucks, and even a performance by Danny Lux and more live performances!
Plaza de La Raza is hosting a Dia De Los Muertos community event. With hands on workshops like alebrije making, and even a dia de los muertos art exhibit.

Ritmo celestial is hosting a night dedicated to old school reggeaton
Sunday November 2
On Sunday November 2- On Sunday, Casa de Lola brings back Salsa con Sazón, a tribute to the golden era of salsa and the 1970s Fania All-Stars.
In Montebello, The Goddess Mercado is hosting a viewing party for Brujitas, a Chicana-led sci-fi series that blends ancestral magic, cosmic spirituality, and community-driven storytelling. The screening will be followed by conversations with local creatives and pop-ups celebrating women in film and culture.
