Hi guys,
This week’s roundup has a little extra heart behind it. Colombia and Venezuela are still recovering from some devastating earthquakes- and true to LA fashion, our event community showed up.
So many of the spots below are donating proceeds to relief efforts, so you can dance, sip, run, or paint your way into doing some good this week. Plus all the usual good stuff to fill up your calendar. Let’s get into it-
Events that are helping Earthquake Relief efforts this weekend 🇨🇴🇻🇪
One thing about L.A. is that events curators always send money to relief efforts, and as a result of the earthquake in Colombia, events like these are donating funds to come together.
FRIDAY REC: There is an Art Show happening at Espacio 1839 and a percentage of the bar sales will be going to raise funds for Colombian resources. The show is called Screw a theme cause sometimes the best work is the stuff you make last minute. 🔗
SUNDAY REC: This Sunday, you can run with purpose. Suavecito Run Club is hosting Run & Salsa for Earthquake Relief — moving for Colombia and Venezuela after the devastating earthquakes that hit both countries. Suggested donation: $25. Every dollar goes to The House Project, directly supporting families in Chocó, Pereira, Cali, Manizales, Buenaventura, and beyond + plus families in Venezuela. Come run. Come dance. 🔗
SUNDAY REC: Sip n Paint for Colombia relief efforts. Colombian DJ Ronald will be DJing and Sip N Paint L.A. will be hosting. Part of the proceeds will be going towards families affected by the earthquake. 🔗

Latina Baddie run club is hosting a community run and cafecito right after. Whether you’re walking, jogging, or running, come spend your Saturday morning moving with an incredible community of Latinas — a coffee run in Echo Park. 🔗
Dads in the Wild and Hermanos Wellness Club are hosting a hike in Monrovia (men’s mental health focus) 🔗
KCRW’s free summer concert is taking over Union Station. They teamed up with Metro Art LA to basically turn the whole station into a party — live music, art installations all around the station, and you’re dancing in this architectural space that’s already a masterpiece on its own. 🔗
Noche Romantica is happening this Saturday at Melody Lounge. They will be playing all the romantic classics and even have special guests from CDMX taking over. They will also be hosting a Mañana Romantica in Montebello the next morning. 🔗
Blk Events LA is hosting The Community’s Jazz Festival in response to the official one being canceled. This is a series of low cost anything-but-casual popup concerts! 🔗

Pot Swap is a non-gendered clothing swap for earth conscious baddies. This is a free community event hosted by Pot Studio LA. You’re encouraged to bring pieces you no longer wear and swap some cute new pieces. Leftovers will be donated to LA LGBT center. 🔗
Grand Park’s Sunday Sessions are back. This August edition celebrates Black and LGBTQIA roots of house music with an extended collective takeover by theyhouseLA. This is a free all ages event, and you’re encouraged to save your spot in the grass. 🔗
There is a weaving workshop with an artisan from Oaxaca happening in East L.A. Colectivo Cihuateotl Centro Cultural is hosting Zapotec artisan Vero Mendoza, who will demonstrate the process. Participants will have the opportunity to create and take home a weaving using a 12x12 Bastia (weaving frame). 🔗
