Hi guys,
Hope you’re having a good week. This past weekend, I got to see Karol G for FREE. I went to a pop up (on a Thursday) and ended up meeting people from her tour team who offered me tickets. I left the concert feeling so inspired and proud to be Latina.
Just another sign to try something new and a good reminder that you never know who you’ll meet outside! (Also a nudge to not limit your plans to the weekend).
Before I get into all the events - I wanted to drop a video review around a Taco Crawl happening next weekend that’s pretty cool. I got a sneak peak of it and shared it here:
Taquendo After Dark (Taco festival) is happening 8/27 and 8/28 and part of the proceeds will be helping CIELO, Comunidades Indígenas en Liderazgo, an Indigenous women led nonprofit working with Indigenous communities across Los Angeles.

Nike and Foot Locker are opening The Crenshaw Rec in South LA. Inspired by Crenshaw’s spirit and the legacy of Nipsey Hussle, The Crenshaw Rec by Foot Locker celebrates a neighborhood where basketball, entrepreneurship, and creativity thrive. 🔗
Grand Performances’ free summer concert series is still going, and this Saturday they’re paying tribute to Ritchie Valens. Soul, rock and roll, and more — free and open to everyone, happening from 6-10 p.m. 🔗
This Saturday, KCRW Summer Nights brings Taste of Downtown back to Long Beach. This is also free for all ages, happening from 2-10 p.m. Expect local bites, and once the sun goes down, KCRW DJs take over and turn it into a full-on dance party. 🔗
BLVD Market is celebrating their 5-year anniversary. They’ll have a free kids’ foam dance party, and the first 100 kids will receive free popsicles. This is an all-day event with DJs taking over later on. 🔗
El Jangueo is hosting Eras del Reggaeton - 21 and up, all about celebrating the culture. But it’s bigger than the music: right now, over 500,000 Puerto Ricans are rationing clean water. A portion of every ticket goes to Plenitud PR, an organization fighting to expand water access on the island. They’re also sending support to Colombia for those still recovering from the recent disaster. One night, bringing two communities together. 🔗
Chulita Vinyl Club, a vinyl DJ collective, is celebrating their 10-year anniversary here in LA. This 21+ event will have music, vendors, and more. 🔗
