I’ve been deep in my spooky era lately, watching The Craft and Practical Magic (so good, by the way) and planning which free mazes I want to hit up. There are a ton in Burbank this year 👀 (!)

Okay new night market alert! This week for 500BitesofNatalie, I had to highlight the new market opening by the old Sears Tower. It looks amazing, with local vendors, food, and music. If you go, let me know what you think!
Friday October 10
On Friday, Two Central American DJs, Guatemalan-American artist Aundreja and Salvadoran producer Michael Chacón, will open for a French techno DJ performing in L.A. bringing their own sounds to the local electronic-music scene.
The Central American collective Ambiente Central is also hosting a World Cup Qualifier watch party that celebrates fútbol and community.
And later that night, Blind Barber will feature global sounds like reggaetón and dancehall at their Highland Park location.

Saturday October 11
On Saturday, Floreciendo en Movimiento hosts its final Hispanic Heritage Month run and Pilates session, celebrating movement and wellness.
Hope Alley, hosted by Homeboy Industries, will feature local street vendors including those impacted by recent raids.

FREE Guatemalan Festival in L.A. that was originally postponed over the summer
Over in the Arts District, Hot Girl Market is holding a Halloween-themed market where costumes are encouraged.
In Montebello, Alchemy Craft and Blvd Market host their 4th annual Oktoberfest with mariachi, a mechanical bull, and a Vicente Fernández tribute.
Más Vino Please and Salu come together for a night of salsa and cumbia featuring percussionist Willy Calderón.
Film ’n Friends presents a group photo exhibit exploring portraits of people and the stories behind them. This show sheds light on the faces all around us.
Happy Group is hosting a free Latino Carnival in South Central with live performances from artists like La Original Banda El Limón, Frankie J, and Nina Sky.
There’s also an all-vinyl dance party at Alex’s Bar in Long Beach, featuring cumbia, Chicano soul, garage, and more

Sunday October 12
Cuties Los Angeles will host Readings at Sunset—an evening of queer poetry at the L.A. LGBT Center.
Café con Allie brings its coffee-shop day party to Koreatown, with coffee carts and appetizers by Oaxacan Restarauny La Guelaguetza,
Sierra Mexican Cafe is hosting Cafe con Cumbia to celebrate their 2nd anniversary as a coffee shop.
There’s also a Hispanic Heritage Month event at Common Space L.A. in Hawthorne led by Latino/a-owned entrepreneurs.
In Pasadena, Tepito Coffee and East Side Bombs host Homie 2 Homie, celebrating Indigenous People’s Day through storytelling and art.
Rosas Del Pueblo is both a celebration and a fundraiser for the Pasadena Latine community. There will be Cafecito, dance and vendors.
Heart of LA Event!
5th Annual Tuxuunga Indigenous People’s Day will feature workshops, art, and traditional foods led by the Meztli Project.
