Events Happening this weekend (July 4-6)
What’s still on this weekend (and why it matters)
Hi friends,
It’s been a heavy week. With everything going on, it doesn’t even feel right to celebrate. Honestly, it’s hard to find the words.
The fact that so many events were postponed out of safety says so much:
(Ex: Grand Park Block Party)
It’s like even our joy is under attack and when joy is a form of resistance, taking that away feels especially cruel. It reminded me of the ending scene in Sinners-where the message wasn’t just about surviving, but about refusing to be broken.
Still, I wanted to highlight the events happening this weekend that are pouring back into our communities. Healing spaces, fundraisers, Latinx-led pop-ups that aren’t just events. They’re reminders that we’re still here. And we still show up for each other.
