This weekend is packed with World Cup-inspired events, community festivals, free concerts, art walks, salsa nights, family-friendly activities, and a lot of ways to explore LA.
Whether you're looking for a World Cup watch party, a mariachi festival, a community market, or just an excuse to get out of the house, I rounded up some events happening around the city this weekend.
I also did want to highlight a community tragedy that happened this week. If you’re like me you feel a bit helpless, triggered by what happened to Lorenzo Araujo, who was murdered by ICE. I found this petition we can all sign to demand a call for a full investigation. 🔗

Jerseys del Pueblo-Calling all fútbol fans and vintage jersey collectors! Espacio 1839 is hosting Jerseys del Pueblo art exhibit, a community event celebrating the culture, history, and style of fútbol. Organizers hope to create a space that centers community over commercialization. There will also be art, music, and a community cascarita. (Friday, July 10)

If you’ve been going to the watch parties at Casa México, here’s another event you’ll want to check out. La Plaza de Cultura y Artes is keeping the celebration going with a Mariachi Family Festival. They’re starting the day with yoga, followed by live performances from three mariachi groups.
