Community markets, LA inspired cultural events + coffee parties

How’s everyone doing? Not to make everything about astrology, but we did just survive the last Mercury retrograde of the year. If the past two weeks felt weird, it wasn’t just you!
I’ve been going through a lot these past few months, so I’m hoping to recharge this weekend with some community events.
*My win of the week* I went to one of my first industry events as a creator, and it reminded me how much I love connecting with people in person and advocating for local L.A. culture in creative spaces.
From the people I talked to, everyone’s either going to the Don’t Fall In Love Festival (the lineup is insane) or talking about the 2026 FIFA World Cup. I’m so excited it’ll be in L.A. next year. And if you’re a creative in the event world, let’s connect!
Also… still sad Guatemala didn’t make it, but I’ll be rooting for another underdog in their honor lol.

Friday: First up, Homeboy Industries and Homegirl Café are hosting Hope Alley on Bruno Street. They’re supporting over 12 street vendors who have been affected by ICE raids, with food, music, and community. Such a good way to give back to our community this holiday season!
Saturday: Amistaad is bringing Sueño Latino, a celebration inspired by the holiday house parties many of us grew up with the ones that started in living rooms and turned into all-night memories. Now it’s a full movement honoring Latino culture, music, and joy.
Sunday:Café Con Allie and La Chula Café are hosting a Friendsgiving-themed coffee party inspired by those holiday parties where everyone shows up and the room turns into a celebration. Perfect event to support local businesses affected by the Fires that happened in January.

Homeboy Industries and Homegirl Café are hosting Hope Alley on Bruno Street. They’re supporting over 12 street vendors with food, music, and community.
Suelta, an LA-based party and DJ crew, is throwing a night of dembow, perreo, and baile. They started from a love of Latin rhythm and now celebrate global sounds.
Locatora Radio is hosting a live podcast show with perreo. They’re known for covering Latinx issues, pop culture, and interviews.
Then, Pangea, a community collective, is throwing a kickback to raise support for the Caribbean and the Philippines after recent hurricanes and a typhoon. There will be open decks from 9 to 11, games, and even a mechanical bull.

On Saturday, November 22:
BLVD Market and Angel City Market are teaming up for a free community night market in Montebello. It’s family-friendly with live DJs, food, and vendors + plus it’s their grand opening.
Somos Los Callejones is hosting a street festival on November 22 in LA’s Santee Alley, teaming up with the Los Angeles Tenants Union and Councilmember Ysabel Jurado. The event aims to bring shoppers back to local vendorsafter recent decreases in foot traffic due to summer immigration sweeps.
The Central American Collective, Ambiente Central, is hosting an event with performances by Roy Da Drumma. Before the party starts, they’re serving holiday food like panes con pollo, a dish popular across Central America.

Ambiente y Café is hosting a community coffee event and food drive with DJs, vendors, and dancing. It’s all about coming together, giving back, and keeping the energy up.
Café Con Allie and La Chula Café are hosting a Friendsgiving-themed coffee party inspired by those holiday parties where everyone shows up and the room turns into a celebration.
CicLAvia is back this Sunday, opening LA streets for cyclists, walkers, and skaters to explore car-free routes and enjoy pop-up activities along the way.
Netflix’s Last Ride is hosting a pop-up event celebrating the show, with immersive activations, music, and interactive experiences for fans this Sunday
